What are emojis?

Emojis were created in 1999, by Japanese interface designer Shigetaka Kurita. Since then, only on Facebook messaging, Messenger, 5 billion emojis would be exchanged every day. In March 2020, there were over 3,300 of them in the Unicode standard, the universal computer coding system. Each year, new emojis are developed and then integrated by mobile operating systems like Android and Apple’s iOS.

Why use emojis when chatting?
